WBDM teamed up with the Atomium, which is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of its refurbishment. This joint anniversary was marked by an exceptional evening event at the heart of the Atomium on 21 May 2026.

For the team, this milestone symbolises a major achievement: two decades of commitment, reflection and evolution. But above all, 20 years of enriching human connections, which this celebration honoured by thanking all those who help to promote Belgian fashion and design on the international stage.

To give the evening real substance, once again with the help of Alok Nandi – who had previously organised a Pecha Kucha for our 10th anniversary – we decided to bring this format back*. Our guests – some of whom we were meeting for the first time, and others we’ve known for a long time but whose work we admire – came from Belgium and further afield to share their unique and inspiring worlds.

Speakers:
Giuseppe Attoma – designer and founder of Attoma agency
Margherita Balzerani – Director of the Louvre Lens Vallée incubator
Caroline Zeller – Artistic Director and modelling engineer, specialising in AI-generated imagery and generative art.
Sophie Dajez et Julia Kurcz, founders of Backstage Fashion Talks
Céline De Schepper – Designer, artist and founder of The (Never)-Ending Archive
Arnaud Bozzini (Brussels Design Museum Director) et Pascale Delcor (Maison Delvaux) presented the influence of the Atomium on fashion and design in Belgium.

It is with the same enthusiasm that we will continue this commitment, promoting these sectors whilst placing designers and their practices at the heart of our work, in the firm belief that it is, above all, talent and collaboration that make our ecosystem so rich.
