The Wallonia-Brussels Federation offers grants for research and prototyping in the fields of design and fashion.

Grants

The prototyping or research grant enables the creation of a prototype, a limited series of objects, a collection, or specific research which, in the long term, will lead to the development of a prototype.

Applications must be submitted in response to one of the calls announced on the website.

Support for the organisation of an event and the acquisition of equipment may also be requested.

Applications are examined on the basis of the following criteria:

• the innovative nature of the project: the primary objective of the prototyping grants is to support creation. The search for new materials, shapes, aesthetics and sources of inspiration must be explained.
• the technical, material and aesthetic quality of the project: the functional quality of the project is particularly examined for design projects;
• the coherence between the intentions of the designer/stylist and the project itself: the project must have a unity, a common thread.
