The European Commission has launched the 6th edition of the New European Bauhaus Prizes (NEB Prizes 2026), which reward projects and ideas that embody the values of the New European Bauhaus: sustainability, inclusiveness and aesthetic quality.
Applications are open until 17 March 2026.

Who is this call for?
The NEB Prizes are open to:
- freelancers, collectives, associations, companies, public or private institutions;
- young talents aged 30 or under (depending on the category);
- projects or concepts implemented in the European Union, the Western Balkans, Ukraine or Moldova.
An international category is also open for projects based in Brazil and Japan.

Categories 2026
Applications can be submitted in one of the following four thematic categories:
- Strengthening circularity, sustainability and innovation
- Strengthening local democracy and inclusion
- Arts, culture and heritage as drivers of transformation
- Transformation factors of the New European Bauhaus
Each category comprises two sections:
Section A – ‘NEB Champions’: projects that have already been implemented and have demonstrated a concrete impact;
Section B – ‘NEB Rising Stars’: ideas or concepts put forward by creative young people aged 30 or under.
New for 2026
- Special ‘NEB Water Resilience’ award dedicated to projects related to sustainable water management and climate adaptation;
- International NEB awards for projects located in Brazil and Japan;
- Acceleration programme for finalists (strategic support, visibility and communication).

An opportunity for designers and creators
Designers, creators, artists, architects, studios and collectives based in Wallonia and Brussels are fully eligible for the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2026, provided that their project or concept is developed or implemented within the European Union. Applications may be submitted individually or on behalf of an organisation (non-profit organisation, studio, creative company, collective, cultural institution, etc.). Young creators aged 30 or under may apply in the “NEB Rising Stars” category with an idea, concept or prototype, even at an early stage of development. Projects that have already been completed can be submitted in the “NEB Champions” section.
Applications must be submitted directly online, in English, via the official platform, using a detailed form highlighting the project’s contribution to the values of the New European Bauhaus (sustainability, inclusion, aesthetic quality), its societal impact and its territorial roots. No European co-application is required: project leaders from Wallonia-Brussels can apply independently.
Prizes
- Up to €20,000 for winning projects;
- €5,000 for finalist projects selected as runners-up;
- In addition, a communication package and high European visibility are offered by the European Commission.
