Fondation Hermès: Manufacto programme

Category: Calls for proposals
Publication date:

The Fondation d’Entreprises Hermès is launching its Manufacto call for projects. Designers are invited to come up with a new utilitarian and durable object, adapted to the specific gestures of stonemasonry, plumbing or metalwork. The aim is to pass on to students the pleasure of making things, rigour and openness to the world.

The aim of the call for projects is to promote and support the passing on of craft skills to younger generations, by highlighting creativity, technical excellence and innovation in the stone-cutting, plumbing and metalwork trades. The object must be made using the specific skills of one of these three trades. The selected project will be prototyped in collaboration with a Compagnon du Devoir in order to adapt it to the teaching realities of the programme.

Who is the call for projects aimed at?

The call for projects is open to all designers over the age of 18, whether applying alone or as part of a group. The proposed project must be original and must never have been presented or marketed before.

Applications

The call for applications is open until 18.05.2025.
