Design is part of a quest for solutions that involves, among other things, observing the world and society. As Design from Belgium, the video produced by WBDM, shows, it’s not just a question of colors, shapes and materials, but of deep reflection on the origin of a product, the use of sustainable or recycled materials, its place and method of manufacture, its price and, finally, its purpose as an object.
This awareness begins in Belgian schools: fertile ground for the emergence of committed talent, but also for the outline of a “Belgian attitude”; a very free way of reading codes and interpreting them, taking certain risks and capitalizing on the multicultural character of a country resolutely open to the international.
