From 14 to 18 January 2027, Wallonie-Bruxelles Design Mode (WBDM) is taking part in the latest edition of Maison&Objet Paris as part of the ‘Belgium is Design’ project. For the occasion, a selection of designers and companies from Wallonia and Brussels are brought together at a joint stand in the Decor & Design area, one of the fair’s flagship sectors.

A key event for design brands in a changing market
More than just a trade fair, Maison&Objet has established itself as a genuine international ecosystem dedicated to design, interior design and lifestyle. Combining a physical exhibition, the MOM digital platform and trade events in Paris, the event aims to support brands in their commercial development and international visibility.

A market under pressure, yet rich in opportunities
Against a challenging economic backdrop, the design and interior decoration sector is demonstrating a remarkable capacity to adapt. The latest Maison&Objet Barometer highlights the resilience of international players: innovation, differentiation, high-quality craftsmanship and an international outlook appear, now more than ever, to be essential drivers of growth. More than 1,300 professionals surveyed worldwide describe a market in flux, driven by the renewal of product ranges, the quest for uniqueness and the emergence of new projects, particularly in the hospitality sector, high-end residential property and contemporary living spaces.
Against this backdrop, Maison&Objet remains a prime platform for meeting distributors, specifiers, interior architects, interior designers, buyers and the international media all seeking fresh, creative ideas.

Belgium is Design: a showcase for contemporary Belgian design
Under the ‘Belgium is Design’ banner, WBDM highlights a selection of projects that reflect the diversity and vitality of contemporary Belgian design. From lighting and accessories to decorative objects, textiles and innovative craftsmanship: the exhibitors selected for the January 2027 edition present collections with a strong identity, combining creativity, high-quality craftsmanship and entrepreneurial vision:
This collective presence aims to support the international development of the participating brands whilst enhancing the visibility of Belgian design amongst industry influencers and opinion leaders. It also allows them to benefit from the strength of the ‘Belgium is Design’ project, which has been recognised on the international stage for many years.

Decor & Design: objects that bring meaning to spaces
The Belgium is Design stand is located in the Decor & Design section, dedicated to distinctive styles, reimagined craftsmanship, exceptional furniture, textiles and objects that shape contemporary interiors. This section showcases creations that bring character, emotion and uniqueness to living spaces, combining craftsmanship, innovation and design quality.
