The Lake Como Design Festival is launching its call for entries for the ‘Contemporary Design Selection 2026’ section, a collective exhibition to be held from 12 to 20 September 2026 during the Lake Como Design Festival.

Designers and creators are invited to submit their projects by 30 April 2026.

An international festival at the heart of contemporary design

Renowned for its discerning curatorial approach and unique dialogue between design, architecture and heritage, each year the Lake Como Design Festival offers a programme that highlights the most innovative contemporary practices.

For the 2026 edition, the contemporary selection will be curated by Giovanna Massoni and directed by Francesca Prandelli, offering a sharp and committed look at new approaches to design.

Who can participate?

This call for entries is open to a wide range of creative practices:

  • Designers, craftspeople, architects, artists
  • Companies, publishers, galleries
  • Duos or collectives of designers
  • Designers from urban, rural or suburban backgrounds
  • Creators collaborating with non-design-related structures (restaurants, shelters, detention centres, accommodation centres, etc.)

Publishers and galleries may also sponsor participants and submit one or more artists.

Types of eligible projects

One-off pieces, limited editions and mass-produced items are eligible. Projects may fall into either the indoor or outdoor categories.

Each designer may submit a maximum of two projects, at least one of which must be a preview.
