Pierre Bergé & associés design prize : Nathalie Dewez

In 2006, when Pierre Bergé & associés opened the salesroom on the Place du Grand Sablon in Brussels, it decided to develop the sales of contemporary artists and designers. Today, sales of contemporary art, photographs, jewellery and furniture by designers represent nearly half of its activity.
In its active move to foster contemporary design, Pierre Bergé & associés undertakes actions in addition to its auctionsales by hosting exhibitions, publishing limited editions with amongst others India Mahdavi, Jurgen Bey and Pol Quadens, and by participating in the awarding of prizes. Regularly requested to be a member of juries, Pierre Bergé isespecially involved in the development of young designers.

In 2011, Pierre Bergé & associés wants to be a partner of the centre of fashion and design of Brussels and wants to promote the selection of 101% designed in Brussels in order not to miss out on celebrating the creativity of the Belgian art scene. On this occasion, a jury consisting of leading lights coming from museums, communication, design and the art market was brought together.

Nathalie Dewez is awarded the prize 2011, with a value of 5,000 euro, for aid in the production of prototypes.

A monographic exhibition will be held at Pierre Bergé & associés in September 2011.
