The claim of the 2008 edition of the Salone Satellite is "Go Green!" this is the theme behind the selection of the participants.

The Belgian designers presented by Wallonie-Bruxelles Design/Mode, an institution aimed at promoting design and fashion in this region on the occasion of international trade fairs and exhibitions, are giving us a demonstration. Naturalmind..., the title under which they operate, is a kind of manifesto, which is not limited to declaiming a principle but which demonstrates its application natural in daily life and in the development of the project.

Belgium's environmental policy and particularly in Wallonia is among the most advanced in Europe. For this reason, and through an innate sensitivity to the need to safeguard their natural assets, the design of this region has for some time now been acknowledging the importance of an object's life cycle. To put it in a nutshell, ecology as some have already been foretelling is a state of mind, not a label. In other words, eco-design is the underlying notion behind the project and not merely a passing trend.

Thierry Bataille (for the second year running at Satellite), Déborah Franquet, Mathias van de Walle and the very young Mélanie Vandenhecke & Hugo Cociani of What else? (exhibiting for the first time outside their own country), are offering designs with a clear ecological finger print'.
