A conference on urban design during the Prince's visit to Morocco, Casablanca, on the 24th of November 2009.The investments made by numerous towns regarding design are witness to the growing interest in design in society, in particular in architectural and urban design. Architectural and urban design has, however, not yet acquired its patent of nobility.Design is not neutral. It can contribute to the value of a district and the building comprising it, or even to the landscaping of public spaces dedicated to the community. By designing this as part of a larger project, design will play its part in the landscaping of user-friendly districts for users, inhabitants and passers-by, by ensuring improved articulation between public spaces and private spaces.
