Damien Bihr graduated in Engineering & Industrial Design from St Luc Liege, in 1984. His professional experience includes: interior design, furniture and architecture, for the Renault network, Grey communication agency, Brussels, TDK Europe, Luxemburg, Baxter Renal, Brussels; interior design and furniture for the Queen Elizabeth Competition in collaboration with Florent Ceni (Zoom Architectures) and Bram Boo; interior design, furniture and architecture, for Eurocities and CCB Award. He recently worked with the CRM (Centre for Research in Metallurgy) to create an outdoor furniture collection with integrated PCM (Phase Change Materials).
Being a designer. At all times and in all fields there are reasons to work as a designer. Design doesn't exist; design is the result of a series of intertwined positions - political, economic, ethnological, ergonomic, commercial... human.
Designing. I don't reinvent forms but positioning choices in design work generate forms that become "reinvented". These are forms that become obvious to us when we're working; it's not the other way round: form follows usability. Pay attention to usability and the world of forms will have a meaning for each of us.
